Decoustics - Metallo

DESCRIPTION
Metallo is a coated finish containing real metal (stainless steel) particles that is specifically formulated to provide acoustical transparency. The finish, available in a variety of metallic colors, is applied to both the panel face and edges.
LIMITATIONS
Not recommended as wall panel finish for high traffic areas as Metallo panels can be damaged if brushed up against by pedestrian traffic. Decoustics recommends locating panels above head height on walls.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Colors: Available in 7 standard colors only (no custom colors). Refer to Decoustics Metallo brochure. Maximum Panel Size: 48" x 72" (1220 mm x 1830 mm) is largest size recommended by Decoustics. Panels larger than this are more susceptible to coating damage during handling and installation. However, by employing Decoustics construction Type HCC, larger panel sizes can be accommodated i.e. up to 48" x 96" (1220 mm x 2440 mm).

MAINTENANCE
Can be cleaned using water or recommended cleaners. Refer to "Metallo Cleaning & Maintenance Instructions" for specific data.
Painting will significantly reduce acoustical absorption, and may also affect panel finish integrity. The Metallo finish itself cannot be field
applied. The finish is factory applied in a strictly controlled environment and method, however, small scratches or blemishes can be touched up
in the field.

RECOMMENDED USES
For areas not subject to touching or abuse.
As a finish for ceiling panels, or wall panels above head height.
Suitable for flat, shaped, and 2- dimensional pre-curved panels. Note: There are some radii limitations for pre-curved panels. Consult Decoustics for specific data.

FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES
Provides metallic look for less cost than traditional metal finishes.
Provides excellent acoustical absorption.
Provides Class A flame spread (less than 25) for an assembled (composite) panel when tested to ASTM E84.
NRC Type E400 mounting per ASTM E795 and NRC for Type A mounting per ASTM E795.
