Acoustical Performance - Owens Corning Sound Attenuation Batt
Insulation / MW is designed to provide superior acoustical, thermal and
fire resistance properties when installed in interior partition walls
and above suspended ceiling systems. Material Construction - Sound Attenuation Batts / MW is manufactured, utilizing patented state-of-the-art technology, from basaltic rock. The fibers are bonded and preformed into flexible batts. Superior Fire Safety - Sound Attenuation Batts / MW with a melting point in excess of 2000ºF are classified as a non-combustible by the model building codes. When installed in approved wall systems, Sound Attenuation Batts comply with the requirements of ASTM E 119 for 1 hour fire rated partitions. Quick Installation - Sound Attenuation Batts / MW are easy to install. Batts friction-fit between metal studs in interior partitions or lay over suspended ceilings so the insulation material is supported by the ceiling suspension system. |

passage of flame and smoke in "poke-through openings" in
fire-rated assemblies. Safing Insulation / MW is classified
as non-combustible by the model building codes. Material Construction - Safing Insulation / MW is manufactured, utilizing patented state-of-the-art technology from basaltic rock. The fibers are bonded and preformed into flexible batts. Safing Insulation / MW is available unfaced or with foil scrim (FS) facing on one side. Excellent Thermal Performance - Safing Insulation / MW also provides excellent thermal properties in all commercial curtainwall systems. Safing Insulation / MW delivers R-values of 4.0 per inch. Quick Installation - Safing Insulation / MW installs and fabricates easily. Safing Insulation / MW is easilyu cut with a utility knife for convenient job site fabrication. Safing Insulation is easy to compress to tightly fit between the curtainwall insulation and for slab. |

Superior Fire Safety - Curtain Insulation / MW has a melting point in excess of 2000ºF and is classified as non-combustible by the model building codes. When installed in approved wall systems, Curtainwall Insulation / MW comply with the requirements of ASTM E 119. |
